Regions of Leonida → Vice City
Vice City collectibles
Vice City is the densest region in the state, and it will hold more items than anywhere else. Here is where Rockstar tends to hide things in cities, what the trailers already show, and why part of the map stays shut until later.
What is known about the city
Vice City is the centre of Leonida and a fictional Miami. Rockstar has shown it in the trailers: a waterfront of towers, low-rise blocks, a port, canals, a beach strip to the east. It is the return of the city from GTA Vice City, rebuilt from scratch.
One trait matters for collecting, and the trailers make it plain: the city is vertical. Roofs, balconies, fire escapes, underground parking, overpasses. In GTA 5 the dense Los Santos caused most of its trouble exactly this way — the item is in plain sight, but there is only one side you can reach it from.
Where Rockstar hides things in cities
This can be said in advance, because the devices repeat from game to game. From GTA 5 and RDR 2:
| Kind of place | Example from earlier games | What makes it hard |
|---|---|---|
| Rooftops | Letter scraps in GTA 5 sat on roofs across downtown Los Santos | Invisible from street level, needs a climb or a helicopter |
| Back lots and alleys | Monkey mosaics, some of them down blind passages between buildings | On a map they read as solid blocks |
| Underwater at the waterfront | Nuclear waste in GTA 5 started right off the shore | Needs scuba gear, and that does not arrive in chapter one |
| Interiors | Epsilon tracts, several of them indoors | A top-down marker does not say the door is on the other side |
| Building sites and derelicts | Stashes in RDR 2 inside abandoned structures | They appear and vanish as the story moves |
Which leads to the practical point for a city: a coordinate is not enough. You need to know which side to come in from and what to be carrying. That is why every marker on our map carries a "how to find it" note, an indoor flag and a list of required gear.
What will not open straight away
Some of the city will be shut early on, and the reasons are known from the studio's earlier games:
Orange depends on how far you have played. Blue depends on what you brought with you.
Using the map for this region
The map can show Vice City alone — the other six regions drop away and progress is counted for this city on its own. The link below opens exactly that view.
Inside that view two filters are working that collectible maps usually lack: by story chapter and by required gear. They answer "what can I collect here right now" rather than "what exists here at all". The difference starts to matter once a city holds a few dozen markers and half of them are out of reach.
What appears here after launch
From 19 November this page will carry the Vice City item list with a "found out of total" counter, hints, and a source link on every marker. Until an item has been found in the game and backed by a link, it is not on the map — not here and nowhere else on the site.
Unconfirmed markers carry a yellow drop and keep it until somebody reaches the spot and confirms. In the first week most of them will, and that is more honest than passing a rumour off as fact.
GTA 5 and RDR 2 figures are verified against the PlayStation and Xbox achievement lists. GTA 6 information is drawn only from official Rockstar material as of 25 September 2026, including the “An Extended Look” showcase of 27 August.
